Horse falls into drain, gets rescued by firemen

KUALA LUMPUR: A team of firemen today rescued a horse that fell into a two-metre deep drain in Taman Pinggiran Putra, Seri Kembangan here.

Cyberjaya Fire and Rescue Department operation chief Mohd Sabri Ismail said seven firemen were rushed to scene after being alerted to the incident at 12.37pm.

"The firemen took about 40 minutes to hoist up the horse by using a makeshift wooden stairs, using wood collected from a nearby orchard.

"The owner of the horse was also on hand to keep the horse calm, while the firemen were trying to rescue the horse," he said.

The horse was eventually rescued. However, it sustained light injuries on its left knee in the fall.
