Indian voters should be wary of opposition's "desperate" tactics

KUALA KANGSAR: Nambikkai, an independent Indian non-governmental organisation, has advised the community not to be influenced by the opposition's desperate tactics to win the parliamentary by-election.

Its president V. Kalai said Indian voters here should also remember the empty promises made by the opposition in the last general election.

"In 2013, they have announced 14 pledges to help the less-fortunate Indians within 100 days of their rule.

"But nothing have been done three years after they have won in Penang and Selangor," he said here today.

Among others, he said the opposition had promised a minimum wage of RM1,100 for Indian employees in the two states.

However, Kalai said he it was never fulfilled.

He said Indian voters should think carefully before they cast their votes on Saturday.

"If the opposition candidate become the member of parliament, it may hamper the plan to develop the constituency.
