KEMAMAN: A 36-year-old man was killed when his car collided head on with a lorry near Kijal, on Saturday.
Mohd Rizal Shafie died of serious internal injuries in the 3.30pm incident.
District police chief Superintendent Mohd Said Ibrahim said the car was heading towards Kuantan from Kuala Terengganu when the incident occured at KM136 Jalan Kuala Terengganu-Kuantan.
"Rizal was believed to have lost control of his vehicle and skidded before colliding with a lorry from the opposite direction," he said.
The 42-year-old lorry driver escaped unhurt.
Rizal's body was sent to the Kemaman Hospital.
Mohd Said said the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road and Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving and causing death.
