KUANTAN: The famous Padang MPK1 here will undergo upgrades to offer more comfort to visitors.
Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government minister Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan said the upgrade, costing RM1 million, will include installation of a giant screen, floodlights, benches and recreational facilities.
"Padang MPK1 is famous among the people here for recreational activities.
"It is also popular especially during Ramadan, as many people including members of the royal family and state leaders will gather to break fast.
"Therefore it is hoped that upon completion of the upgrading projects, which will be done in stages, more people will come here with their family and friends," he said before breaking fast with the Kuantan Umno division at Padang MPK1.
