Najib calls on Muslims to reject those who oppose Islam

PEKAN: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said Muslims should reject those who opposed Islam and their allies in Malaysia.

He said Muslims should also uphold Islam in the country.

"We should not compromise on Islamic matters in the country," he said at a breaking of fast with civil servants and community leaders at Sultan Ahmad Shah Al-Haj Mosque here.

About 2,000 people joined the prime minister at the event.

Najib also distributed goodies to 24 tahfiz (Quran studies) students and 36 senior citizens before the breaking of fast.

He later performed Maghrib, Isyak and terawih prayers with the other congregation at the mosque.
