Penang govt won't say sorry for calling BN supporters 'bodoh'

GEORGE TOWN: The DAP-led state government will not retract some harsh words used against Barisan Nasional supporters who attended yesterday's public debate.

Speaking at a press conference today, Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said the administration would not retract the words used by state Public Works, Public Transportation and Utility Committee chairman Lim Hock Seng.

"No need to say anything anymore (on the harsh words used during the debate). We have bigger things to think about," he said.

The question was initially forwarded to Hock Seng but Guan Eng answered it instead.

During the public debate on the Penang undersea tunnel and three highways project, the situation turned tense when Hock Seng failed to control his emotions and called BN supporters "bodoh".

The debate was between Hock Seng and Gerakan secretary-general Datuk Liang Teck Meng.
