BAGAN SERAI: Two people were killed when an express bus rammed into divider at KM194.9 of PLUS Highway near Bukit Merah at 5pm today.
One passenger died at the scene after she was trapped in the vehicle while another victim died on the way to the nearest clinic for treatment.
Kerian police chief Superintendent Omar Bakhtiar Yaacob confirmed the incident.
A Fire and Rescue Department spokesperson said they received a distress call at about 5.15pm.
The Bagan Serai Fire and Rescue team was despatched to the scene with a team from Kamunting fire station.
The identities of the victims have yet to be confirmed.
