PORSCHE has brought its World Roadshow to Sepang International Circuit (SIC), providing car enthusiasts and media personnel across Asia the thrill of driving 22 of the latest models and variants from the German luxury carmaker.

Porsche World Roadshow is a long established professional driving event that has been held in over 45 countries.

Attracting more than 42,000 potential customers and car enthusiasts, the roadshow is an ideal platform to experience the sensation of driving the complete Porsche model range.

Led by certified Porsche instructors, it also offers opportunity to enhance one’s driving skills.

The seven-day roadshow at the SIC — hosted by local importer Sime Darby Auto Performance and kicked off on Friday — included lessons on braking, slalom and vehicle handling as well as an off-road experience.

The first day was meant for the Malaysia media as well asthose from Singapore. We were among the very first to preview and experience the new mid-engine 718 Boxster and 718 Boxster S, roadster, ahead of their official launch in Malaysia early next month.

According to Porsche officials, the new 718 Boxster models are equipped with newly-developed turbo-flat four engines with improved performance and considerably reduced fuel consumption.

Other flashy Porsche sports cars and muscular SUVs included the latest 911 models, Cayman, the “sports car for four” Panamera, Macan and Cayenne models.
