Boy feared drowned after falling into drain in Ampang

KUALA LUMPUR: A 10-year-old boy is feared drowned after he fell into a drain during a downpour this evening.

It is leant that the boy was playing with his friends near the drain at the Sekolah Agama Tasik Tambahan, Ampang.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant operations director Mohd Sani Harul said they received a distress call at 5.47pm.

"A member of the public who was near the location saw the boy swept away by the water.

"We arrived several minutes later and a search and rescue effort was launched.

"As of now, we have yet to locate the victim. The operation is still ongoing," he said.
