TUARAN: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi received a warm welcome as he arrived at the Dewan Sri Sulaman to attend the Hari Raya open house, here.
He was accompanied by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman. The event was hosted by Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan, and State Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Hajiji Noor.
Thousands of local residents thronged the hall as early as 9am to join in the open house celebration with the country's leaders.
Earlier, Zahid was at Kampung Rampayan Laut in Kota Belud to launch the East Malaysia International Internet Gateway (EM-IIG), were he also attended an open house hosted by Speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia.
Zahid is scheduled to attend another open house, hosted by State Assistant Finance Minister Datuk Ramlee Marhaban, in Putatan at 1.30pm.
He will later travel to Tawau and join Rastamas Group Managing Director Datuk Tahir Picho for another reception at 3pm.
