SYDNEY: Australian police said Thursday they are investigating child abuse complaints against Vatican finance chief George Pell with a decision on whether to press charges yet to be made.
“That’s a matter that we investigated and still are investigating,” Victoria Police Chief Commissioner Graham Ashton said of the explosive claims against Pell, Australia’s most senior Catholic cleric who has strongly denied the allegations. --AFP
