Terengganu's 22 state secretaries immortalised in coffee table book

KUALA TERENGGANU: The services and contributions of Terengganu’s 22 state secretaries over the past 105 years has now been immortalised in a coffee table book.

The book - ‘Ar-Ru Asa – Tokoh-Tokoh Setiausaha Kerajaan Negeri Terengganu (1911-2016)’- was unveiled by Menteri Besar Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman at a simple ceremony at Wisma Darul Iman, today.

Present were state secretary Datuk Osman Muda and several past state secretaries.

In honouring their services and contributions, Razif said the book will prove to be a good reference material for academia and future generations.

“Although it took 105 years to come up with such a book, it nevertheless provides a historical collection of the state secretaries, right from the first one, Tengku Ngah Umar Abdul Rahim in 1911.

“The data and information are a treasure trove and inspiration for generations to come,” said Razif.

He said the state secretaries acted as the head of the civil service in a state, who implemented various government policies and ensured the smooth administration and development.
