KUALA TERENGGANU: A local Bumiputera company has enhanced its penetration into the oil and gas industry for controlled bolting and flange management services.
Kobertbell Engineering Sdn Bhd, which has already made inroads with giants like Petronas and Shell, is now the sole marketing agent in the country for PT HTL Asia Pacific for the supply of Powertorc (correct) parts and equipment.
Kobertbell Holdings Sdn Bhd managing director Faeez Asry Yusoff said it won the agency contract owing to their success in the oil and gas industry involving electrical and instrument engineering; fabrication, construction and installation; air-conditioning system; flange management system; manpower resources; ship building and repair, and global trading.
“We now want to be a major player in the controlled bolting and flange management system as there is plenty of scope in the industry, with possibly hundreds of millions worth of contracts,” said Faeez after a signing ceremony with PT HTL Asia Pacific at the Permai Inn Hotel, today.
Aminuddin Abdul Hadi represented PT HTL Asia Pacific which is based in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The Kobertbell brand is already synonymous in Terengganu with being sponsors of the state hockey and football teams via its subsidiary Kobertbell Marketing (M) Sdn Bhd.
On another note, Faeez said that his company is in negotiations with Tesdec to help groom secondary school students to pursue courses in controlled bolting and flange management.
“We are prepared to offer courses for up to 100 students a year, to be equipped with the technical knowledge and know-how of the industry, so that they can undertake a career in the oil and gas industry,” he said.
