Jobless man charged with possessing fake credit cards

PETALING JAYA: A jobless man was charged at the Sessions Court here with possessing 20 fake credit cards with the intention to use it for forgery on Tuesday.

Brandon Chong, 22, denied having the counterfeit cards and using it to commit fraud at a hotel in at a hotel in Jalan Besar Serdang Jaya in Seri Kembangan here at 2pm on Aug 2.

His charge under Section 467 of the Penal Code carries a maximum jail sentence of 20 years and liable for a fine, if convicted.

Judge Azwarnida Affandi will only set bail when the accused's surety is ready and fixed Aug 25 for mention.

Earlier, deputy public prosecutor Nadiah Malek Fauzie proposed RM15,000 bail with one surety.

Chong was unrepresented.
