TNB senior officer remanded, under investigation for graft

KOTA BARU: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has obtained a seven-day remand order against a Kelantan Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) senior officer over an investigation into a corruption case.

The remand order, effective from today until Aug 22, was issued by magistrate Ahmad Adha Amir Yasser Amri at the Kota Baru Magistrate's court here.

The 47-year-old man is being investigated under Section 17 (a) and Section 23 of the MACC Act 2009.

The suspect was nabbed by MACC officers yesterday at his office at 2.30pm.

He was among three senior government officers who were arrested by the MACC yesterday in simultaneous raids in Kuala Lumpur, Malacca and Kelantan.

The authorities also froze RM13 million in their bank accounts, including savings accounts and unit trusts amounting between RM1 million and RM6 million.
