PM Najib hosts dinner for 400 ICBOS dignitaries and delegates

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak hosted a welcome dinner for some 400 foreign dignitaries and delegates of the inaugural International Conference on Blue Ocean Strategy (ICBOS) at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) here today.

Najib, who attended the event with his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, also welcomed heads of government from Singapore, Maldives, Swaziland, Thailand and the Republic of Nauru, as well as representatives from foreign missions and embassies.

The event, which was held in conjunction with the two-day conference, also saw the attendance of Nauru President Baron Waqa, King of Swaziland King Mswati III, Maldives Deputy President Abdulla Jihad, and Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Secretary-General Tan Sri Iyad Ameen Madani.

Also present were Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa and Attorney-General Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali.

The leaders' summit, themed 'Transforming Nations Through Creativity and Innovation', held at Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC), emphasises on enhancing the formulation and implementation of national policies and initiatives.

About 3,000 participants from across the globe are expected to partake in the event including leaders and representatives of Commonwealth member countries, Asean nations and OIC members.
