New look and formula

Sunsilk has new improved formulations for its eight shampoo variants, writes Syahirah Mokhtazar

FOR most women, having great hair instantly builds up their self-confidence and boosts their mood for the day.

With the humid weather we have to endure, it’s important to have a good shampoo to keep us looking chic and sleek, always. Striving to be the best hair companion a woman would need, Sunsilk decided to relaunch its eight shampoo variants, to reveal its latest formula and product design.

Avid Sunsilk users would know the different shampoo bottle colours by heart — pink, blue, green, gold, yellow, orange, purple and black. While the colours remain, it’s the design and formula that are new and improved.

Speaking at the launch of the event was Vincent Chong, marketing director of Unilever (Malaysia) Holdings. “As our consumers grow and evolve, so does our brand. We realised it was time to upgrade our Sunsilk packaging and strengthen our product formulas with the latest technology.”

The newly-formulated shampoos are infused with nourishing proteins, vitamins and natural oils to guarantee a solution for every hair problem. As with the previous shampoos, each variant was co-created with Yuko Yamashita, Dr Francesca Fusco, Thomas Taw and Jamal Hammadi. They are suitable for straight, dry, damaged and hair covered in hijab.

The eight variants are categorised as Smooth and Manageable, Lively Clean and Fresh, Anti-Dandruff, Hair Fall Solutions, Soft and Smooth, Damage Restore, Perfect Straight and Black Shine.

A Sunsilk Sisterhood anthem was performed at the launch by four rising stars — Daiyan Trisha, Najwa Latif, Lizz Chloe and Jestinna Kuan. This anthem, titled Sisters Forever, is the brand’s way of empowering girls. The singers represent four colours: blue, pink, gold and green.

Daiyan who represents blue (Anti-Dandruff), says her hair care regime consists of a standard shampoo and conditioner. “I wash my hair once every two days and condition it once a week. The serum is a favourite. I’ve been using it for a long time.

“It’s important to experiment with the most suitable shampoo for your hair type. I would recommend Sunsilk as it has eight variants to choose from.”

For those who wear the hijab, it is best to opt for the green, (Lively Clean and Fresh). Najwa says this shampoo keeps her scalp feeling fresh, especially when she has a busy schedule.

Sunsilk’s new range of hair care solution is available in all leading supermarkets and retail outlets nationwide.
