Thailand releases sketches of bombing suspects

BANGKOK: Thai police on Wednesday released sketches of four male suspects in the bombings of Hua Hin resort and Phang Nga province two weeks ago.

Thai News Agency (TNA) reports that three of the sketches were based on descriptions from three witnesses who were present in Hua Hin on Aug 10, which are similar to images caught by camera.

Four bombs exploded in Hua Hin, two on a busy street on Aug 11 and two in the city’s tower house on Aug 12. The remaining sketch is thought to depict a man suspected of bombing Bang Niang market, Phang Nga province on Aug 12.

Earlier, police issued a warrant for Ahama Lengha from Narathiwat province who was accused of a bombing in Phuket and fled to Malaysia.

Information about the suspects and motives behind the attacks remains unclear.--BERNAMA
