Maybe she knew she'd lose, says Ku Nan of Anina's withdrawn lawsuits

KUALA LUMPUR: Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said sacked Umno Langkawi member Anina Saadudin had withdrawn all her lawsuits against him and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak as she knew she would lose.

“Perhaps she knew that she can't win, so she retracted the lawsuit against the prime minister and I.

"It’s up to her, she was the one who filed the lawsuit," he told reporters today.

Tengku Adnan was speaking to reporters after launching a series of character sculptures by legendary cartoonist Datuk Mohammad Nor Khalid, better known as Lat, near Majid Jamek today.

On Wednesday, Anina withdrew all her lawsuits made in her capacity as an Umno member.

Anina was reported as saying that she decided to withdraw all her lawsuits as she is now fighting through new political party Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia, and that all her actions made in her capacity as an Umno member are no longer relevant.

Anina, 40, had sued Najib and party executive-secretary Datuk Ab Rauf Yusoh, who is the co-defendant in the suit, to purportedly recover a portion of the RM2.6 billion donation said to have been donated by Middle Eastern donors.

On Sept 11, 2015, she filed the suit against Tengku Adnan and Rauf for an order that the two termination letters issued against her by Tengku Adnan be declared invalid, and therefore, have no effect on her membership.
