KUALA NERUS: A 32-year-old man escaped while his friend is feared drowned when their boat capsized near Pantai Teluk Ketapang, here today.
State Fire and Rescue Department officer Rozizah Abnihajar said Mohd Zulkifli Jusoh was saved by a fisherman in the 7pm incident.
Rozizah said the firemen were alerted to the emergency at 7.42pm.
She said Zulkifli was with a friend in the boat when it capsized following strong waves.
"Zulkifli from Teluk Ketapang, was saved by a fisherman who spotted him. His friend, who has yet to be identified, went missing in the sea," she said.
Rozizah said 16 firemen from the Kuala Terengganu and Kuala Nerus stations were rushed to the scene for a rescue operation.
As of 9.15pm, the other victim is still missing.
