GEORGE TOWN: The man, who caused a ruckus at Deen Nasi Kandar restaurant in Jelutong recently, was charged with criminal intimidation and causing damage by committing mischief.

Wan Rosli Zain, 49, pleaded guilty to both offences read to him before Lower Courts assistant registrar Muna Maria Azmi at the magistrate's court today.

He was accused of committing the offences at the restaurant on August 26 at 12.20am and charged under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation and Section 427 of the same act for causing damage by committing mischief.

Muna Maria allowed bail at RM3,000 with one surety for each of the offence and fixed Sept 15 for sentencing.

It was reported that the accused had walked into the shop and demanded cash from the cashier. When the cashier ignored his request, he created a ruckus and smashed the food display glass as well as the cash register.
