Tangkap MO1 rally: Rasah MP among those summoned by police

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have summoned several individuals, including Rasah MP Teo Kok Seong, to have their statements recorded over the Tangkap MO1 rally held on Saturday.

Suara Rakyat Malaysia (Suaram) Right To Justice coordinator Mohammad Alshatri said the individuals are to provide their statements at the Dang Wangi police headquarters tomorrow at 11am.

Among them are Tangkap MO1 coalition spokespersons Anis Syafiqah and Luqman Nulhakim, as well as Suaram coordinator Amir Abd Hadi.

Teo will be accompanied by Segambut MP Lim Lip Eng.

The rally was organised by a coalition of student and youth groups, and also joined by the youth wings of PKR, DAP, and PAN.

About 1,000 participants converged at Dataran Merdeka on Saturday, despite the organisers' failure to obtain a permit from the authority, violating the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012.

The rally was to urge the authorities to identify and reveal "Malaysian Official No 1", as named in a United States Department of Justice's civil complaint.

Dang Wangi police chief Assistant Commissioner Zainol Samah confirmed that police have summoned several key individuals behind the rally.
