SHAH ALAM: Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah has conferred the title of Tengku Permaisuri Selangor on his consort, Datin Paduka Seri Norashikin Abdul Rahman, effective yesterday.
Norashikin will be addressed as Tengku Permaisuri Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin, said the Selangor Council of the Royal Court secretary Hanafisah Jais in a statement today.
Hanafisah said Norashikin was also awarded the Seri Paduka Mahkota Selangor (S.P.M.S) by the Sultan Sharafuddin which carries the title Datin Paduka Seri after a meeting with the royal court council yesterday.
Sultan Sharafuddin married television personality Norashikin, 45, at the Masjid Istana Diraja, Istana Alam Shah, Klang on Aug 31.
Selangor Mufti Datuk Mohd Tamyes Abd Wahid performed the royal solemnisation ceremony.
Kuala Lumpur born Norashikin, is an RTM news presenter and a mother of two.
