When I think about the notion of Japanese beauty, I think about minimalist makeup with radiant and flawless skin.
One of Japan’s favourite makeup brands, Kate Tokyo, has some ideas and tools on how to achieve this.
It has recently launched its Spring/Summer collection featuring four new cosmetic products that will give you a fresh, edgy look.
To achieve a flawless complexion, Kate Tokyo has introduced the Kate Powdery Mousse BB (RM39).
This face foundation has a lightweight texture, almost an air-like feel, so it does not feel like you are wearing thick powder on your face.
It is also supposed to give a powder matte-finish but you must blend the product well to avoid it looking cakey. My advice, apply it with a damp beauty blender or sponge.
The Mousse BB also gives a high coverage but if you have scars and red spots, it is best to apply concealer first.
At the moment, Kate Powdery Mousse BB is only available in two shades — Bright and Natural.
FOR THE EYES
Another must have easy-application product is the Kate Forming Edge Eyes (RM55) to create edgy almond eyes.
It has eight stunning colours but my favourite is BR-2, a calm nude brown colour because it gives me nice, natural eyes for an everyday look.
It is super easy to apply. The first step is to use lighter shades for the inner corner and the darker shade to contour the outer corner. Then, use the medium colour on the mid eye area and blend for a smooth look.
Of course, any eye look would not be perfect without a wing and to get it, you can use the Kate Sharp Lock Gel Pencil (RM47). It has a super fine 1,5 mm tip so you can definitely get the wing you desire.
The best part about this eyeliner is that it is waterproof, so you can keep your wing flick perfect all day long!
My absolute favourite is the Kate Lasting Eyebrow W (RM55), which is another product which is super easy to apply.
Unlike the earlier Kate Lasting Eyebrow W, the new one comes with a liquid tip. It creates natural eyebrows really easily. I just draw a line with the liquid tip and blend it with the powder tip.
