All about cultural diversity

IN conjunction with Malaysia Day celebrations today, a comedy-drama about cultural diversity will be aired on TV3 at 9pm tomorrow.

Titled Anak Mat Salleh Tapi Melayu, it tells of Datuk Borhan who has three daughters from his marriage to a British national.

The girls grew up in the UK with their mother and her family, and when they move to Kuala Lumpur to live with their father, they are unable to adapt to Malaysian culture.

Borhan gets his mother, Nek Mah, to educate his daughters on traditional Malay culture.

It stars Diana Danielle, Amelia Henderson, Jelita Kako, Ridzwan Hashim, Zarina Zainuddin, Yusof Hashim and Aznah Hamid.

Airing tomorrow at 12.02pm on TV3 is Drama Festival Kuala Lumpur 2014’s winning short film Singh Susu.

It tells of Amarjit who cannot play football but is determined to learn the sport. He idolises Cristiano Ronaldo and his closest friends at school encourage him to do his best.

It stars Vimalage Ganesh, Firdaus Ghuffran and Kong Chee Kuang.

On Sunday, catch Hayden Christensen in Jumper at 11pm on Fox Action Movies HD (434).

He plays David Rice who has a genetic anomaly that enables him to teleport himself anywhere.

David discovers that the gift has existed for centuries and finds himself in a war that has been raging for thousands of years between Jumpers and those who have sworn to kill them.

Also starring in this action adventure sci-fi thriller are Samuel L. Jackson and Rachel Bilson.

At 4pm on HBO (411) and HBO HD (431) is Everest, inspired by true events. The movie documents the journey of two different expeditions which experience one of the fiercest snowstorms ever encountered by mankind. It stars Jason Clarke, Josh Brolin and John Hawkes.

Footie fans can catch the live telecast of the Malaysia Cup 2016 which sees Kedah playing against Negri Sembilan at 8.30pm on TV9 tomorrow.
