IT manager jailed nine months, fined RM7k for injuring & intimidating ex-wife

SEREMBAN: An information technology manager was sentenced to nine months’ jail and fined RM7,000 by the Magistrate’s Court here today for injuring and intimidating his ex-wife last year.

Magistrate Nurulfitriza Abd Latif made the judgment against Jazlan Annuar Abdul Jabar, 42, after the prosecution failed to raise reasonable doubt in the case.

Jazlan was charged under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt to Rosnani Mohd Rosdi, 41, at No 79, Jalan Isora 2, Laman Isora, Nilai Impian, at 3pm on Feb 8, last year.

He is liable to a maximum of one year’s jail or fine of no more than RM2,000, or both, upon conviction.

On the second charge, he was accused of intimidating Rosnani at the same location, time and date.

He was charged under Section 506 of the Penal Code, which provides for a maximum seven years jail or a maximum fine of RM2,000, or both, if found guilty.

Jazlan was sentenced to three months’ jail and RM2,000 for the first offence and another six months’ jail and RM5,000 fine for intimidation.

Jazlan was represented by Nazrin Ibrahim while Rosnani was represented by observer Fahmi Adilah.

The case was prosecuted by deputy public prosecutor Siti Khadijah Mohd Pisol.
