KUANTAN: Some 200 people gathered at the Bukit Ubi Muslim cemetery here today for the burial of a father and daughter, who were killed after a racing buggy ploughed into them.
Family members and friends paid their last respects to Izwan Isa, 39, and his five-year-old daughter, Nurzulaikha Izwan, who were buried in the same grave about 11pm.
Earlier, the remains of Izwan and Nurzulaikha arrived at the Tengku Ampuan Afzan mosque in Indera Mahkoya from the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital around 8pm.
Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob was among those present to perform the 'solat jenazah' at the mosque.
Izwan's wife Siti Suhaiza Seman, 38, and son Muhammad Izz Danial Izwan,7, who survived the horrific crash, are in stable condition at the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital.
Izwan and Nurzulaikha were killed after a racing buggy competing in the Education Innovation Motorsports and Automotive Race (Eimarace) crashed into them during the event near the Pahang Sports Complex about 11.30am today.
The incident in the 131cc vehicle category occured when the racer lost control of the buggy after his vehicle grazed another two cars.
