GEORGE TOWN: A double storey home at Jalan Tanjung Tokong here was razed in a fire today.
A fire and rescue department spokesperson said they received a distress call at 6.30pm and immediately despatched a team of 26 firemen, three fire trucks and one water tanker.
"The team arrived at the scene and found that the fire was raging out of control.
"Nearly 90 per cent of the house was razed in the fire," he told reporters here today.
He said the fire was brought under control at 6.43pm and was extinguished at 7.12pm.
"The Forensic Department has been called to the scene to determine the cause of the fire," he added.
He said no fatalities were reported
