Fire razes Proton service centre in Segambut

KUALA LUMPUR: A Proton service centre located in a warehouse in Segambut caught fire this morning damaging eight vehicles.

The Fire and Rescue Department's Kuala Lumpur Operations Centre said it received a distress call at 8.08am today.

It said 25 firefighters from the Sentul, Jinjang, and Hang Tuah stations were rushed to the scene, along with machineries.

The team arrived at the location at 8.16am, led by operations commander Mohd Hafizan Hassan.

"The fire was about 50 x 50 square feet, and destroyed a spare parts store room on level one, and a file room on level two, with an estimated destruction of 100 per cent.

"Eight vehicles in the car was also 70 per cent destroyed. The incident did not involve any victims, and the cause of the fire is still being investigated," the statement said.
