SUNGAI PETANI: A 22-year-old woman changed her plea to not guilty at the Sessions Court here today over causing the death of her two-year-old daughter last month.
Aida Amira Harun changed her plea before judge M. Vijayalakshmi when she was brought to court this morning for sentencing.
She had earlier pleaded guilty to the offence when the case was first mentioned on August 22.
Aida was charged with committing the offence on Ainul Solehah Mohd Husamuddin at No 675, Jalan Kemboja 30, Bandar Aman Jaya, here, between 9.10pm and 9.40pm on August 10.
The charge, under Section 304(a) of the Penal Code, carries a maximum 30 years' jail and a fine.
Vijayalakshmi fixed October 25 to mention the case.
Deputy public prosecutor Izza Munirah Mansor prosecuted while Aida was represented by counsel Mohd Hezeri Harun.
