Policewoman told to enter defence for withholding info on terror activities

KUALA LUMPUR: The High Court today ordered policewoman Jusninawati Abdul Gani to enter her defence on a charge of withholding information on terror activities.

Judicial Commissioner Datuk Nordin ruled that the prosecution had established a prima facie case against Jusninawati who is alleged to have withheld information with regards to a person leaving for Syria on Nov 12, 2014.

"As a policewoman, she was duty bound by law to inform the authorities that she had knowledge of a person leaving for Syria, but had failed to do so."

Jusninawati, 35, who holds the rank of a corporal, is accused of having committed the offence at the Petaling Jaya District police headquarters between August 2015 and March 22, this year.
