Brunei Sultan departs after three-day visit

PETALING JAYA: The Sultan of Brunei Darussalam, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, left today after a three-day visit to Malaysia during which he attended the 20th Malaysia-Brunei Darussalam Annual Leaders' Consultation in Putrajaya.

Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman and Urban Well-being, Housing and Local Government Minister Tan Sri Noh Omar, who was the minister-in-attendance, bade farewell to the Sultan, his consort Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha and the Brunei delegation at the Royal Malaysian Air Force base in Subang near here.

At the annual consultation yesterday, the respective delegations headed by the Sultan and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak agreed, among other things, to initiate discussions on the Pan Borneo Highway network to improve connectivity and accelerate economic and social growth in the two countries.

Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha and the Brunei delegation were hosted to lunch by Najib and his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor at Seri Perdana yesterday. -- BERNAMA
