We can stop domestic abuse

CASES of domestic violence and abuse against women and children are rampant because we have become complacent and selfish when it involves getting involved in other people’s problems.

We should intervene in violent cases. Children, especially babies, are most vulnerable and defenceless and have become victims of abuse related to poverty, poor parenting, financial problems, deplorable living conditions, domestic violence, sexual abuses and divorces.

The long wail in the night, unexplained bruises and cries of children are signs of child neglect and abuse. These incidents should be reported to the police or welfare authorities.

Parents should manage their stress levels to prevent themselves from abusing their children.

Preventing domestic violence is a community effort. We need to be busybodies to stop abuses and violence from escalating to tragic deaths.
