LRT3's art competition offers cash and book vouchers to Malaysian talents

KUALA LUMPUR: Prasarana Malaysia Bhd and MRCB George Kent Sdn Bhd are co-organising a national level LRT3 project’s painting competition.

Titled ‘Painting the Rail Future’, the contest will run from Oct 13 to Dec 13 and it is open to primary school students, secondary school students, university students and the general public.

“We wish to encourage members of the public to be part of the urban rail transformation initiatives and showcase their talents by presenting the LRT3 project in the most creative manner,” said LRT3 Project and Prasarana Malaysia director Datin Norlia Noah.

Winners will be announced in Jan 2017 and the winning entries will be featured on LRT3 promotional materials such as the construction site hoardings. The artists will be credited for their work.

The panel of judges will consist of a representative from Prasarana Malaysia and notable creative professionals. A winner and two runner-ups will be selected from each of the four category. The contest will offer up to RM3,000 in cash and RM1,000 in book vouchers.

Submissions are in the form of water colours, crayons, colour pencils and computer graphics only.

Winners will be selected based on their interpretation and clarity of the theme, creativity and originality, artistic composition quality, and overall design and impression of the art.

Details of the contest are available at www.lrt3.com.my. Entries should be sent with the submission form, which can be downloaded at http://www.lrt3.com.my/, and may be sent by email or post.

Email entries should be sent to competition@mrcbgk.com while postal entries should be mailed to Liyana Yusoff, Level 3A, Menara MRCB, 2, Jalan Majlis 14/10, Seksyen 14, 40000 Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia.

The 37-kilometre LRT3 project with 26 stations aims to enhance the connectivity and mobility of some two million people living and working between Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya and Johan Setia, Klang.
