Homeless woman found hung at Klang LRT3 station

KLANG: Police have confirmed the discovery of the body of a woman found hanging near a Light Rail Transit 3 (LRT3) station in Taman Sri Andalas here two days ago.

Southern Klang District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Cha Hoong Fong, stated that the fully-clothed body, adorned with a headscarf, was discovered by a security guard who contacted the emergency line MERS 999.

According to him, the body was found when a 55-year-old security worker, who was on a security patrol, came across the woman hanging in the pedestrian walkway.

"The investigation found that when the witness, who is a security guard at the LRT3 station, was patrolling the area, he found a woman hanging herself in the pedestrian walkway.

"The ambulance arrived at the scene and confirmed the death. The on-site investigation also found that the deceased used a headscarf to tie around her neck and to the pedestrian walkway railing to hang herself," he said.

He added that the police investigation into the identity of the woman found that the deceased was a 47-year-old local woman, a homeless individual with no permanent residence or job.
