Two women, including Bruneian, killed and three injured in Miri crash

MIRI: Two women, including a Bruneian, were killed and three other people were injured when the Toyota Harrier they were travelling in skidded and smashed into a tree at Jalan Padang Kerbau here at about 11.50pm last night.

The deceased were identified as Patricia Sujan, 22, from Brunei, and Christina Nuyah Mangka, 26, a local woman. Both died on the spot.

Sarawak Traffic Police Officer Deputy Superintendent Alexson Naga Chabu said both women, who were seated in the rear, succumbed to head injuries.

“Five of them were travelling in a Toyota Harrier, at a high speed, from Pujut Roundabout when the driver lost control at a sharp bend and hit a tree,” he said.

The driver and two other passengers suffered injuries and were taken to the Miri hospital for treatment.
