KUALA LUMPUR: The Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) presented awards to 19 public transport operators and industry players at the SPAD Gala Dinner and Industry Award 2016 tonight.
The highlight of the event was when SPAD chairman Tan Sri Syed Hamid Albar presented special awards to a bus driver and six taxi drivers for their good conduct.
In his speech, he gave special mention to the seven individuals.
The bus driver, Mohd Zaidi Yusoff, received the award for helping a passenger who was in labour during a journey from Kuantan to Kuala Lumpur. The selfless driver helped deliver the baby.
"I am overwhelmed at receiving this award. It is one of the most cherished moments in my life," he said.
Also present was SPAD chief executive officer Mohd Azharuddin Mat Sah and industry players.
