KUALA LUMPUR: A policeman today claimed trial at the magistrate's court here to stealing a car at the parking lot of the Federal police headquarters at Bukit Aman.
Lance Corporal Alias Asa Mohamed, 29, was charged with stealing a Volkswagon Vento, which was registered to B Suria Food Trading at parking Lot 78, Level 1A, Tower 1, Bukit Aman between 2.50am and 4.12am on Sept 30.
He is accused of driving the vehicle from the parking lot and is charged under Section 379A of the Penal Code, which carries a jail term of up to seven years and a fine.
Deputy public prosecutor Farith Faizal, in declining to offer bail to the accused, told magistrate Adira Adnan that the offence was a non-bailable one.
Adira fixed Nov 22 for mention.
Alias was unrepresented.
