PAS not cooperating with parties trying to topple PM Najib's government: Hashim

KOTA BARU: PAS today announced that it has no plan to cooperate with any political parties aiming to bring down Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak's government.

Newly-appointed spiritual leader Hashim Jasin said the party has tried working with other opposition parties but the cooperation failed.

“A certain party has asked us to co-operate with it to change the government and prime minister. I want to tell them, we can't accept that.

"We have tried many things previously, joining Barisan Nasional (BN) and working with other opposition parties. However, it has come to nothing," he told a ceramah in conjunction with PAS' 26th Year in Kelantan last night.

He was believed to be referring to offers made by Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM), led by president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

Hashim, who was appointed to the post to replace Datuk Dr Harun Din two weeks ago, said PAS was tired of following others and no longer wants to be a follower.

"PAS can no longer give others to take the driver's seat where we are merely a follower. We have take the leading role." he said.
