2017 Budget: Allocation of RM260.8 billion

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak announced an allocation of RM260.8 billion when tabling the 2017 Budget in Dewan Rakyat today.

He said the Budget is an increase of 3.4 % from the recalibrated 2016 Budget.

The 2017 Budget comprises RM214.8 billion for operational expenditure, RM46 bil for development expenses and an emergency reserve of RM2 billion.

Of the RM46 billion allocation for development, RM25.9 billion will be for the economic sector, RM12.2 billion for social sector, RM5.3 billion for security and RM2.5 billion for public administration.

He also noted that Barisan Nasional had successfully defended and maintained the GDP growth at an average of 6% a year for almost 60 years.
