2017 Budget: GDP to grow between 4 and 5 per cent

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s gross domestic product is expected to grow between four and five per cent next year, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

Tabling the 2017 Budget in Parliament today, Najib also said the government expected its revenue collection in 2017 to grow by three per cent to RM219.7 billion.

He said the government was committed to implement the best budget through prudent spending despite the uncertain global economy.

He said despite the sluggish global economy, Malaysia’s economy grew at a stable and sustainable rate during the first half of 2016.
