2017 Budget: RM28 billion in FDI approved for first half of year

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of RM28 billion in foreign direct investments (FDI) have been approved for the first half of this year, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

Tabling the 2017 Budget in Parliament today, he said this was a 32 per cent increase compared to the corresponding period last year.

He also announced that the government would allocate RM2.9 billion to advance Bumiputera agenda.

The finance minister added that Malaysia has become an 'upper middle income' nation based on the Purchasing Power Parity measurement system.
