TV highlights: Z Nation returns with new season

ROBERTA Warren, Addy, Doc, Citizen Z and the rest of the crew return in a third season of zombie series Z Nation, airing Saturdays at 8.20pm on Syfy (HyppTV Channel 611).

In this season, human/zombie hybrid Murphy may be on the verge of his most dramatic transformation yet. It will bring a few new baddies into the fold as Operation Bitemark is scattered to the winds. It stars Kellita Smith, DJ Qualls, Anastasia Baranova and Keith Allan.

Meanwhile on History (Astro Channel 555/575), Rising Sun Over Malaya will air tomorrow at 10pm.

Discover the little-known stories of courage and survival through the eyes of the people of Malaya during the Japanese occupation from 1941 to 1945.

This month, CNN’s On China explores Beijing’s military might, from the South China Sea to cyberspace. China’s military is in the midst of major reforms. President Xi Jinping has moved to modernise and reorganise the People’s Liberation Army while continuing his anti-corruption purge. He has extended the reach of the world’s largest fighting force with new high-tech weapons and an overseas naval base.

With world attention on China, CNN anchor and correspondent Kristie Lu Stout is joined by experts from within China’s borders for a discussion on what’s really driving this world power.

Stout sits down with Tong Zhao, an associate at the Carnegie-Tsinghua Center for Global Policy, Jamil Anderlini, Financial Times Asia’s editor, and Bryce Boland, chief technology officer of FireEye for Asia-Pacific to discuss matters.

On China airs today at 10am and 7.30pm, tomorrow at 12.30pm and on Monday at 11am on CNN (Astro Channel 512).
