GEORGE TOWN: The National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) has waived the payment on the remainder of Chin Khoon Sing’s study loan.
Chin, who was tragically killed when a crane hook fell on her vehicle in Kuala Lumpur on Aug 25, had obtained the study loan to pursue her diploma and degree programmes at a private institution of higher learning here.
Apart from waiving the loan, Chin’s family also received a cheque of RM1,500 from the corporation today.
PTPTN deputy chief executive (policy and operation) Mastura Mohd Khalid presented the study loan waiver certificate and money to Chin’s aunt, Yeoh Ang See, 55.
Mastura said the family no longer need to worry about the loan repayment.
