KUALA LUMPUR: UMNO Information chief Tan Sri Annuar Musa said today Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin was making statements on 1Malaysia Development Bhd that went contrary to those he had made when he was the deputy prime minister.
“He claims to have made criticisms when in the Cabinet but, to my knowledge, Muhyiddin had never expressed anything firmly at UMNO Supreme Council meetings or other official or unofficial meetings.
“He was mostly silent on many issues that he is raising now,” he told reporters at the lobby of Parliament.
Annuar also expressed his disappointment with the Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia president for not giving him the opportunity to interrupt and respond to the allegations he had made.
“A big chunk of Muhyiddin’s speech came only as a result of having been fired from the party and included his views after joining the opposition.
“Until now, he has chosen to maintain a monologue and this does not reflect the exemplary values of a good parliamentarian,” he said. -- Bernama
