TANGKAK: A body of a male youth, chopped up and concealed in five plastic bags, was discovered in the compound of a house in Kampung Kesang Laut here today.
Tangkak district police chief Superintendent Mohad Idris Samsuri said the house owner contacted the police when he made the gruesome discovery at about 3.15pm.
The owner found a severed foot in his compound and immediately contacted the police after the shocking discovery.
Police later recovered a total of five plastic bags containing body parts of the victim hidden in a culvert at the parking lot of the kampung house.
The victim’s head was found buried in the ground near the house.
“The victim is believed to be a male youth who may have been murdered at another location. Based on the condition of his remains, he may have been murdered three days ago,” said Idris.
He said police have arrested a 19-year-old youth an hour after receiving the call reporting on the discovery of the body parts.
The case is currently being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
