Canto-pop stars Hacken Lee and Joey Yung brought the house down at their Genting Arena of Stars extravaganza

POPULAR Hong Kong singers Hacken Lee and Joey Yung serenaded thousands of excited fans with their love-themed songs at the Arena of Stars in Genting Highlands recently.

Their show centred on the subject of love and saw Lee, 48, and Yung, 36, performing songs that featured the many aspects of romantic relationships. The medley of Cantonese and Mandarin tunes had the duo sing of emotional issues such as insecurities, the pain of break-ups and strength to move on.

More than 10,000 attended the concert and many described the duo as the perfect match.

Yung and Lee have since last year completed a dozen sell-out shows at the Hong Kong Coliseum. Their concert series, initially set for eight dates, was eventually expanded to 12. Their crystal-clear voices and mesmerising performances coupled with an exquisite stage design and stunning play of visual effects, provided fans with an unforgettable evening.

The concert was organised by Star Planet and supported by Malaysia Major Events (MME), a division of the Malaysia Convention And Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), an agency under the Ministry of Tourism and Culture.

MME general manager Tony Nagamaiah said the creative costuming, choreography, lighting and visual effects that helped make Lee’s and Yung’s showcase a success were testimony to Malaysia’s capabilities in organising world-class concerts.
