Red Shirts regrouping at Padang Merbok

KUALA LUMPUR: The Red Shirts protesters have all converged at Padang Merbok for their counter-Bersih 5 rally.

One of the movement's leaders, Zainuri Zainal, said their supporters, who had earlier today gathered at different locations around the city centre and the Putra World Trade Centre, were told to assemble at the field.

It is learnt that police have set up a heavily-guarded barricade at Jalan Parlimen here to separate the Red Shirts from Bersih 5 protesters, whose main rally point is only a few hundred metres away at Dataran Merdeka.

The heavy police presence include the anti-riot Federal Reserve Unit.
