(Bowling) Malaysian bowlers bring home silver and bronze in mixed team event

KUALA LUMPUR: It continued to rain medals for Malaysia at the Commonwealth Tenpin Bowling Championships in Johannesburg as national kegglers Muhd Nur Aiman Khairuddin-Siti Safiyah Amirah and Timmy Tan-Shalin Zulkifli bagged the silver and bronze medal respectively in the mixed doubles event today.

Aiman-Siti Safiyah, who bowled in Squad A reeled in lines of 442-493-491-430-505-438 for a 2,799 total, 21-pins behind gold medal winners Elliot Crosby-Becky Day of England.

Timmy-Shalin, were not too far behind with 2,759.

Malaysia have since bagged two gold medals (men’s singles and women’s doubles), three silver medals (men’s singles, men’s doubles and mixed doubles) and one bronze (mixed doubles).

All four bowlers will take to the lanes again on Thursday for the team event.
