KUALA LUMPUR: Comedians Harith Iskander and Adibah Noor are set to bring the house down as co-hosts at the Anugerah Industri Muzik 22’s (AIM 22).
AIM 22 will take place at Putra World Trade Centre on Dec 18.
“We won’t be doing any physical comedy, of course,” Adibah said jokingly, when met at a press conference at Parkroyal Hotel here, today.
“Oh, but I’m thinking of doing a handstand,” joked Harith, also known as the godfather of stand-up comedy.
Harith added that thankfully, they were already good friends to begin with, so the task would be easier.
“We know each other very well, so there won’t be any awkward moments,” he said.
“I actually idolise Harith,” Adibah revealed.
“Oh, please. Please don’t stop,” Harith quipped.
Laughing, Adibah continued, “He’s like my big brother but it’s a dream come true to work with him at the awards.”
This will be the third time Harith is hosting the awards, having done so in 1996 and 2003. As for Adibah, she hosted the event in 2012.
The press conference today also revealed the artistes who will be performing at the awards, including Datuk Siti Nurhaliza, Ameng, Projector Band, Faizal Tahir and Yuna.
AIM22 award presenters are Aaron Aziz, Amyra Rosli and Datuk M. Nasir, among others.
The event will be televised live on Astro Ria (Astro Channel 104/123) at 9pm.
The red carpet event, to be hosted by singer Aril Pilus and TV personality Shamim Farid, will be at 8.30pm.
